Reports to the founders.
Getting a factory operational in India is mostly a licensing and liaison problem: approvals, consents, load sanctions, NOCs and inspections, each with its own department, timeline and way of being handled.
We’re running existing operations and building new capacity. You’d own both.
Why this sits at head level
New capacity is on the critical path for the whole business. If approvals slip, production capacity slips, and the launch calendar, the supply chain plan and the hiring plan all move with it.
This is also the function where delay is invisible until it’s expensive. Nobody notices a consent application sitting in a queue until the month the line was meant to start. We want someone senior enough to see that coming and escalate before it matters — and to know which approvals genuinely gate operations and which can run in parallel. That sequencing judgment is most of the value.
What you’d build
- New sites from empty to operational — approvals, consents, utilities, fit-out, vendors and handover — run as a program with a critical path, not a to-do list.
- A compliance calendar that renews licenses before they lapse, not after someone notices.
- A vendor and AMC framework across utilities, security, housekeeping, canteen and transport, with service levels that mean something and benchmarked costs.
- Standing relationships with HSIIDC and the pollution control, electricity, fire and municipal departments — built before you need them, not during an inspection.
- Infrastructure resilience: power continuity, water and connectivity. Our production doesn’t tolerate outages well.
What you’d own
- Statutory licenses, consents and renewals across all our facilities.
- The facilities budget — maintenance, utilities, power and DG sets, water — and real cost control over it.
- Capital projects for new capacity, with timelines you’re accountable for.
- Security, access control, housekeeping, canteen and employee transport.
- Assets, insurance and AMC contracts.
- Travel, visas and visitor hosting for our teams in the US and China, and for visiting suppliers.
- Government incentive and subsidy applications where we qualify.
- The administration team.
What you’ll need
- 12+ years in factory or industrial administration — not corporate office facilities.
- New-site commissioning you can walk us through: a facility you took from approvals to operational, the sequence, the dependencies and where it stalled.
- Responsibility for multiple sites, not a single building.
- Real liaison depth with Haryana or NCR government departments.
- Budget and capital project ownership, with evidence of cost control.
- Vendor and contract negotiation.
- Team leadership.
- Fluent Hindi, and working English for documentation.
- Persistence and organization: you’re comfortable chasing a file through a department until it moves.
In your application, tell us
One facility you commissioned: the approval sequence, how long it took, where it got stuck and what you did about it. And one recurring facility cost you materially reduced.
This description summarizes the role. Duties may vary, and the final job description is confirmed at offer.
